The Shops at Liberty Place Mural

Brief
The Shops at Liberty Place is an urban retail center located in the heart of the Center City shopping district. Located in the food court area of the building, the 29-foot-long mural was designed to capture Philadelphia's most iconic motifs, quotes, monuments, and locations to invite Philadelphia visitors and locals into the shared space.

In collaboration with Drexel University members, this mural combines the popular Philadelphia motifs (Liberty Bell, Rocky Statue, Philly cheesesteak, etc.) with those of The Shops at Liberty Place (shopping bags, logo, retail slogans) with a modular grid system in free-form images and words that float through the space. By integrating a playful color palette with original illustrations, we were able to reflect the vibrance of the city culture and the inviting experience of what the urban shopping center offers.
